The major influence of traditional Latin American music on the Western jazz world has long been recognized by the organizer of the Jazztage Dresden Festival. This year, Salsa, Bossa nova & Co. reveal exciting collaborations with the joyful improvisation genre. Now, we also hear the Argentinian tango!

Enriched with elements of Flamenco, Valse Musette and Balkan swing, Quadro Nuevo creates an unparalleled Mediterranean ease.

"Grand Voyage" reveals the stories and different vibrations of the places they have reached through their travels: wild rides through the rugged Crimean Peninsula, old European charm of London, a tango from New York, crazy days in Istanbul, nightly feasts in Transylvania and a warm rain in Paris.

Quadro Nuevo plays music that tells of the vagabond life of the four travelers, driven by past and present, between western and eastern winds.

The instrumental quartet had over 2,000 concerts on all continents in 1996. In May of this year they were awarded the ECHO as the best live act and was also awarded the highest German music award.
