Grammy Award-winning and style-setting pianist, composer, producer and bandleader Jeff Lorber is an artist who continues to soar to new heights. A pioneering Fender Rhodes player in a line with Herbie Hancock, Joe Sample and Bob James, Jeff Lorber is one of the most innovative and sought-after musical minds in contemporary jazz. In January 2018, the LA-based pianist won his first Grammy for his Jeff Lorber Fusion recording Prototype in the Best Contemporary Instrumental Album category. "The whole thing was a little surreal," the pianist recalls. "Winning a Grammy was a thrill, especially after not winning in the last six nominations." In July 2021, Lorber released Space-Time (Shanachie Entertainment), a supersonic odyssey that pays tribute to the pianist's love of science. The album features longtime Jeff Lorber Fusion Trio colleagues drummer Gary Novak and bassist Jimmy Haslip, along with several guests, including Hubert Laws, Bob Mintzer, Paul Jackson Jr. and Gerald Albright, to name a few. Lorber says, "I'm incredibly lucky to spend my time doing something I love. When you're doing things you enjoy, it's easy to spread that good vibe."
